Amazing Abruzzo Tours

We are Jake Rupert and Lisa Grassi-Blais, expat Canadians who followed our hearts to Abruzzo, Italy where Lisa's grandfather was born and raised. We can't wait to welcome you to our villa and show you around this incredibly beautiful and unique part of Italy.

Angela Iazensaniro is one of the most talented chefs in Central Italy. She has more than 40 years of professional experience. Her pastas and mains speak to the rustic simplicity of the region. Her desserts are to die for. If you’re lucky, she might even sign a copy of her cookbook for you.

Luca Santovito was born and raised in Abruzzo and he can't wait to show you his region. The history, the geography, the culture, Luca is an expert on it all. After a week with Luca, you will be an honourary Abruzzese.

Eva Budaiová Zazzarini speaks perfect English as well as Slovak, Hungarian, Italian, and German. She manages the villa. She’s a wine expert. Anything you need, just ask Eva. She’s a gem, and she makes a mean Aperol Spritz.

Giuseppe Santovito, Luca's brother, has encyclopedic knowledge of Abruzzese history and culture. Giuseppe loves the Abruzzo region and he is looking forward to showing you all his favourite places. He brings Abruzzo to life!

Nunzia Moio has been working in kitchens and bakeries all her life. She makes some of the best homemade pastas you will ever taste. Her desserts are to die for, and she’s always quick with a smile.

Orazio Grossi is better know as Angela’s husband. He does a little bit of everything - driving, hosting, cooking, and more. He has more than 40 years in the restaurant/hotel business, and one of the coolest Italian/Australian accents you ever heard. Orazio will also tour you around his village of Villalago, voted one of the most beautiful in all of Italy.

Giulia de Panfilis is your lady for biking, hiking and any other outdoorsy thing you can imagine. She also does regular tours and might even meet you at the airport. She loves to laugh. She’s a good sport in many ways.

Nora De Dominicis is one of the most outgoing and fun people you are ever going to meet. She’s got more personality in her little finger than most people have in their entire bodies. Nora = Non-stop fun!

Michael Budai keeps the yard in tip-top shape, the pool clean, and is a great all-round handyman. He’s also Eva’s dad or “Ocko” in Slovak. So, of course, we all call him “Ocko” even Orazio who is four years younger than Michael.

Alina Preda makes sure your villa is spotless, your room is clean and comfortable, and that you have all the towels you could possibly need.
